The Star Inn

We recently stayed at a small B&B called The Star Inn. It’s really fun and old fashioned. Right below it is a pub. A lot of the adults that live in the village go there in the evening. They aren’t very loud though, and the place also serves really good traditional English food. This consists of  breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner and dessert. It’s really nice to explore. The village is small, so it should only take about 55 minutes to completely explore it.

It actually turns out to be the village where Sulgrave Manor, George Washington’s ancestral home is located! An ancestral home is where someone’s ancestors lived. In his case though, it’s where they lived before immigrating to America. We got to go to Sulgrave Manor, where a lot of people have their weddings. There was one going on at the time, and we got to see it getting all set up! There were also old fashioned cars in the lawn right next to it. I got to sit in one:-)

George Washington’s actual birthplace is Westmoreland, Virginia. Another fun fact is that The Star Inn is older than the United States of America. It’s from the 16th century.
We stayed two nights. The first night, Sophia and I shared a room with a queen sized bed, and a twin sized bed. My sister got the big one and I got the little one. Our parents stayed in another room that had a queen sized bed. And the second night we moved a little bed into our room and the whole family slept in the same room.

Over all, The Star Inn was definitely the highlight of my trip so far.
